China is a country with a 5,000-year-old civilization in Eastern Asia. The official name of the country is The People's Republic of China (or P.R.C).The capital is Beijing.

This makes it the 4th largest country in the world. It has an extremely varied climate, from tropical in the south to subarctic in the north. its terrain is mostly made up of mountains, with deserts in the west and deltas and hills in the east.

China is an independent country. It became the People's Republic of China in 1949. Its constitution was last ratified in 2004.
