The country's exports had increased by 7.3% from 2017 to 2018 and by 10.7% from 2015 to 2018. The country's most valuable exports in 2018 were automobile parts, crude oil, petroleum, vehicles, and electro-medical equipment, among others. Shipments from the top-20 exporting states in 2018 were worth over $1.608trillion, representing 81.8% of the country's total exports. Some of America's major trading partners include Canada, Germany, China, Japan, and Mexico, among others.

Texas

Other than being the second-largest American state by both population and area, Texas is the top exporting state in the country. The value of this state's exports equals 19.6% of the country's exports in 2018. Texas exported goods worth $315billion to other parts of the world in 2018. The value of the Lone Star State's exported products in 2018 increased by 19.2% from 2017 to 2018. The Lone Star State's exported products accounted for 17.8% of the state's GDP. Some of the top exports from Texas are Crude oils ($38.7billion), miscellaneous petroleum-oils ($28.1billion), light petroleum-oils ($24.7billion), liquefied-propane ($13.2billion) and computer accessories and parts ($10.8billion) among others.

California

Other than being the most populous American state, California is the second biggest exporter in the country. California managed to ship goods worth $178.2billion in 2018. The value of this state's exports increased by 7.9% from 2015 to 2018. California's exports contributed about 6.6% of the state's GDP in 2018. California's top exports include aircrafts ($7.3billion), diamond ($5.5billion), shelled almond ($1.9billion), integrated circuit ($3.4billion), and computer accessories and parts ($3.2billion), among others. California's top trading partners are Mexico, Canada, and North America.  

New York

New York's total export in 2018 accounted for 4.8% of this state's real GDP. The value of Washington's exports in 2018 improved by 1.7% from 2017 to 2018. Washington's exports in 2018 accounted for about 13.5% of the state's real GDP. Washington State shipped a considerable percentage of their exports to China, Japan, and Canada. Some of Washington's valuable exports are aircraft ($41.8billion), soya beans ($2.4billion), corn ($3.7billion), wheat ($2billion), and petroleum oils ($1.2billion) among others.  

Louisiana

Michigan

Michigan is the hub for the automotive industry in the country thanks to the 3main automobile companies based in the Detroit metropolitan region.
