Christmas in Newport begins with visits to the Newport Mansions, where each house is arranged with seasonal greenery, decorated trees, and wreaths. Rooms display period china and silver, and nearly thirty trees stand throughout The Breakers, The Elms, Marble House, and Chateau sur Mer. A fifteen-foot poinsettia tree rises in The Breakers’ Great Hall.

The Holiday Candlelight Experience takes place on December 12 at 99 Pierce Street, with a String Trio playing seasonal pieces such as Last Christmas and All I Want for Christmas Is You. The event has a calm, indoor atmosphere.

Main Street hosts its annual Sip and Shop event, featuring drinks, treats, and discounts to support holiday shopping. The steady pace makes it easy to browse and pick up gifts.

At the Wildwood Nursery and Garden Center at 659 Frenchtown Road, the Walk Through the Wildwoods adds an outdoor element. Pathways are lined with lights and nostalgic holiday scenes, and the Christmas tree section gives visitors a clear place to look for a tree or select ornaments. Lincoln

The pace inside the house remains steady and relaxed.

For visitors who prefer a more modern setting, Bally’s Twin River Lincoln Casino Hotel provides a different type of night out. Guests can try slot machines or table games and then have dinner at one of the more than seventeen restaurants on site. The contrast between the historic house and the contemporary casino is clear, yet both attract steady holiday crowds. Wickford

Wickford begins its holiday season on December 4, 2025, with the 40th annual Festival of Lights Celebration. The festival opens with the lighting of the tree at Updike Park and continues through December 7.
