Artesia, New Mexico, is one of the best places to live. The town has a low crime rate, and the median home value and rent are lower than the national average at $212,900 and $850, respectively. Additionally, there are several highly-rated retirement communities in Artesia. Located in Eddy County, Artesia is a suburban town with 12,624 residents and plenty of small-town charm. Well-known as the location of the alleged UFO crash, Roswell is home to a decent number of retirees.
