The "Land of the Rising Sun", to explore Japan is to explore a dream. No matter what preconceived notion a visitor to Japan brings them with, they should still expect to be surprised in one way another by the sweeping contradictions of this dense country. Japan is made up of a series of islands, with the largest being Honshu. Its climate is varied, and somewhat comparable to the northeast of North America. Its culture stretches back centuries, but it is also one of the most developed countries in the world.
