Slovenia is a country in Central Europe. Slovenia is a relatively small country with an area of 20,273 square kilometers and a population of 2.07 million people. The major religions in Slovenia include Roman Catholicism and irreligion. 

Major Religions In Slovenia

Christianity has been the dominant religion in Slovenia for a very long time. The dominant Christian denomination in Slovenia is Roman Catholicism. 73.5% of Slovenian citizens are said to be members of the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church of Slovenia is also part of the global Catholic Church that is headed by the Pope who is situated in Rome. 

Other Christian denominations that have been established in Slovenia include the Protestants and the Eastern Orthodoxy. Protestantism is the second largest Christian denomination in the entire world having more than 900 million followers. Despite the large following that this religion experiences across the globe, Slovenia has only 0.8% of its population practicing Protestantism. 2.3% of the population of Slovenia are members of the Eastern Orthodox Church.

According to the 2015 statistics, approximately 10.2% of the Slovenian people had no specific religion. 7.1% of the Slovenia population answered "unsure" when asked about their religion. 

Islam, Hindu, and Judaism

The total number of Muslims in Slovenia account to approximately 2.4% of the total population. Just like Christianity, Islam is also a monotheistic Abrahamic religion. Judaism and Hinduism are some of the minority religions that are practiced in Slovenia.
