ʻEwa Gentry, Hawaii

'Ewa Gentry is a census-designated place situated in Honolulu County and 'Ewa District, on Oahu Island's leeward side in the US State of Hawaii. The 'Ewa area, which was formerly a crucial component of the islands' sugar cane industry, has since grown into a vast suburban area and is a popular place for people to call home on Oahu.

The picturesque town of 'Ewa Gentry is located right next to Kapolei, in an area known as "Oahu's Second City." It is also located approximately 19 km from Honolulu, with the Kapolei Parkway and Fort Weaver Road forming its western and eastern boundaries. On the southern edge of the community, there are tennis and basketball facilities at Geiger Community Park. Alongside the park, there is a sizable food shop that is close to several communities. State Route 76, or Fort Weaver Road, connects to the Farrington Highway (State Route 90) and the H-1 motorway as it travels north via 'Ewa to Waipahu. 'Ewa Gentry covers a total area of 5.51 sq. km, all land.

According to the Köppen climate classification, 'Ewa Gentry experiences Tropical Savanna Climate with alternating dry and wet seasons. The average yearly temperature is 26°C, with September and February recording the highest (28°C) and lowest (23°C) average temperatures, respectively. On average, 'Ewa Gentry gets 457mm of precipitation each year, with June reporting the lowest number (7.62mm). The rainy period lasts the entire year, with a dry season lasting from March to October. 'Ewa Gentry does not receive any snowfall. 

History Of 'Ewa Gentry

What was once a small, rural plantation town surrounded by cane fields has developed into one of the Island's most populous and rapidly growing regions. According to the latest United States Census, 'Ewa Gentry has a population of 25,707 residents, where 50.2% are females and 49.8% are males. 'Ewa Gentry's racial makeup is 43.6% Asian, 12.8% Hispanic or Latino, 10.6% white (non-Hispanic/Latino), 5.6% Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander, and 4.5% African-American or Black. The remaining are distributed among American Indians and Alaska Natives (AI/AN), and other mixed races. English is spoken by 76.3% of the population. The rest speak Asian and Pacific Islander languages (20.3%), Spanish (2.8%), and Indo-European languages (0.7%). 75.5% of the population in 'Ewa Gentry are naturalized U.S. citizens. Veterans make up 11.4% of 'Ewa Gentry's population, of which 84.6% are males and 15.4% are females.

The same Census also revealed that the employment rate in ‘Ewa Gentry is 67.3%, with a poverty rate of 3.1%. The homeownership rate is 71.9%, where the median gross rental cost is $1,965 per month, with a median household income of $112,385. The job market in ‘Ewa Gentry has grown by 0.2% over the past few years.

Ewa Town Center

Between 'Ewa and Ewa Beach, and hidden between Geiger Road and Fort Weaver Road, is where you'll find Ewa Town Center. With about 80,000 square feet of area, the center offers the convenience of a one-stop shop for your daily requirements, along with the cozy atmosphere of an outdoor mall. There are many parking spaces close by, and the architecture is tidy. For ease of access, the center is located close to a bus route. Foodland, Longs Drugs, Subway, Jamba Juice, Genki Sushi, Supercuts, and other businesses are among the center's merchants. Even a spot to fill up your gas tank is available.

Geiger Community Park

Geiger Community Park spans 11.2 acres. It's a great location for a quick break, a stroll, or maybe even a fast run before work. With benches and lots of green space, Geiger Community Park is a terrific destination for outings with friends and family.
