SAVANNAH

savannah description

The city of Savannah, with its tree-filled squares and perfectly preserved historic buildings, was the first colonial and state capital of Georgia.

Escaping virtually untouched from the destruction of America's Civil War, Savannah boasts one of the largest historic districts in the country.

Originally laid out in a grid of 24 squares, each named for an historical event or famous Georgia native, Savannah is a living history lesson and a joy to visit.

You can tour Savannah in a variety of ways
