arrow General Information Discovered in 1722, it's name mean "First Born." Made famous by books, movies, and its incredible beauty and natural attributes (especially the wonderful beaches), it's now besieged by tourism and overcrowding. Regardless, if you must visit a South Pacific island, Bora Bora would be an excellent choice.

arrow Location Description It's about 160 miles northwest of Tahiti and approximately 2,600 miles south of Hawaii

arrow Terrain A rich green, mountainous main island and a few smaller islands, completely surrounded by coral reefs. The central lagoon, according to novelist James Michener, "is so stunning, there are really no adequate words to describe it."
