The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World are widely considered the greatest monuments of all time. Of the original seven, the Great Pyramid of Giza (shown at right) is the only one of the group still standing today.

A campaign to pick the Seven Wonders of the Modern World began in 1999. Swiss adventurer Bernard Weber asked for nominations. Overall he received almost 200 suggestions, and eventually over 100 million votes were cast.

The Seven Wonders of the Modern World chosen in 2007 include The Great Wall of China, Petra in Jordan, Christ the Redeemer Statue in Brazil, Peru's Machu Picchu, Mexico's Chichen Itza Pyramid, Rome's Colosseum and India's Taj Mahal. Pictures and more, here!
