The flag of Ireland was adopted on January 21, 1919. Modeled after the French Tricolore, Ireland's flag uses color to symbolize religions; green is representative of Catholics; orange is representative of Protestants, and the white is symbolic of the union of both.

Coat of Arms
The harp in many forms and styles has been used on the coat of arms of Ireland since medieval times. Today it is used as the symbol of the Irish State. 
It is found in the seals of the President, Taoiseach, Tánaiste and Government Ministers, and is used on the back of Irish Euro coins.
Flower
The shamrock (a three-leafed clover) is a popular way to represent Saint Patrick's Day. National Holiday March 17, celebrates St. Patrick's Day. All major public holidays in Ireland are listed here!
