California has the highest number of billionaires in the US with a total of 124 billionaires. The billionaires in California have a net worth of $532.4 billion combined. The technology industry in California is a major source of wealth for the billionaires including the top five richest in this state. Mark Zuckerberg, with a net worth of $44.6 billion, is the richest in California followed by Larry Ellison, Larry Page, and Sergey Brin with a net worth of $43.6B, $35.2B, and $35.4B respectively. 52 billionaires in California derive their wealth from the tech sector.

New York has 93 billionaires with a combined wealth of $429.7 billion. The majority of the billionaires in the state derive their wealth from finance and investment sector. Nine of the billionaires in the New York have a net worth of at least $10 billion each.
