Western Australia exhibits an array of climate zones depending on where you are within the territory.

Along the southwest coastal region a Mediterranean climate is typical with warm to hot, dry summers and mild to cool, wet winters.

The central portion of the territory experiences a semi-arid climate, and receives little precipitation.

Finally, in the northern region a tropical climate is common with annual rainfall ranging from 20-60 in (500-1,500 mm).
