Tourism in Chad is a relatively minor industry because of its harsh climate, geographic remoteness, poor resources and lack of infrastructure. However, intrepid visitors are attracted by Chad's significant hunting capabilities, the vast Sahelian expanses and Zakouma National Park.

Note: Most governments, at this time, advise their citizens to avoid all travel to Chad due to the deteriorating and unstable security situation.

Worldatlas.com will continue to monitor the situation and post updated information as it becomes available. In the meantime, the links below will offer a glimpse into this interesting country.

There are three separate climatic zones in Chad - The Saharan Zone in the north, with a hot, arid climate; the central Sahelian Zone with a rainy season from June to September with the remainder of the year being the dry season; and the equatorial rain belt in the south with a rainy season from June to October.
