There are three separate climatic zones in Chad - The Saharan Zone in the north, with a hot, arid climate; the central Sahelian Zone with a rainy season from June to September with the remainder of the year being the dry season; and the equatorial rain belt in the south with a rainy season from June to October.
During the rainy season, the roads become nearly impassable.
