Climate:
The climate of Easter Island is buffered by a cool ocean current throughout the year which keeps the temperatures generally mild.
The lowest occur in July and August 18°C (64°F), while the highest are in February 28°C (82°F).
Some level of rain falls over 200 days a year, and the rainiest month is April. On occasion, the island experiences heavy rainfall, but mostly in the winter months (mid-May through August).
Note that seasons on Easter Island are just the opposite of those in the Northern Hemisphere.
Spring: September - October
Summer: late October - mid-March
Fall: late March - April
Winter: mid-May - August.
