The capital of Tennessee, Nashville is also known as the Country Music Capital of the World Music City USA. Located on the Cumberland River, Nashville is a lively, historic town, with lots of restorations, museums and music landmarks to visit.

A major hub for the music, health care and publishing industries, it's a great place to raise a family or to visit on a Tennessee vacation.

Located in the Nashville basin region, the town is surrounded by fertile farmland that makes a strong contribution to the economic success of the state.

Founded in 1779, Nashville has grown to be world renowned for its rich history of country music and bluegrass, and as a center of major music recording and producing.

If you are looking for a heel-kicking good time, the best place to go is downtown to Music Row, where you can find some of Nashville's favorite honky-tonk attractions, including the Wildhorse Saloon and the Tootsie Orchid Lounge. Ryman Auditorium, also known as "The Mother Church of Country Music", is the single most historic site of country music in the world. Its stage has seen over the years famous figures such as Enrico Caruso, Will Rogers, Katherine Hepburn and Elvis Presley.

The celebrated Grand Ole Opry began broadcasting from the Ryman in 1943, and for the next 31 years, the auditorium was host to the most famous country music show in the world.
