Climate:
Rhode Island enjoys a four-season climate, but weather here is erratic, and quick to change based on Atlantic Ocean currents and winds.

Narragansett Bay and all coastal areas are generally cooler in summer and warmer in winter - when compared with the inland regions.

Overall, January is the coldest month with average high temperatures near 30 degrees. Statewide, winter is chilly and wet, with some snow, mostly northwest.

July and August are the warmest months with average high temperatures in the low 80s.

Annual precipitation averages near 45 inches, with slightly higher amounts in the rolling hills, to the west of Narragansett Bay.
