ATTRACTIONS: (a few major)
Formerly known as the Danish West Indies, the U.S. Virgin Islands are now an unincorporated organized territory of the United States.
The three major islands are St. Croix, the largest; St. John, the more relaxed of the three and St. Thomas, home to the capital city and the most population.
There is plenty to see and do, sparkling clear blue water, secluded bays and islands, historic towns and villages, diving, fishing -- and many historic monuments.
Don't miss the Buck Island Reef National Monument, the Christiansted National Historic Site, the Salt River Bay Ecological Preserve, or the Virgin Islands National Park which encompasses 7,000 plus acres.
