Saint Martin landforms

The island is hilly with scattered valleys. Some of the hills are sparsely wooded with a few areas of heavy vegetation. 

The highest point, located on the French side, is Pic Paradis at 1,391 ft (424 m). 

The Great Salt Pond once supplied salt for for large parts of Europe, but its main function today is to buffer rainwater. 

There are no significant rivers or streams on the island.
