Climate:
In general terms, summers are warm and pleasant, with moderate humidity and some rain. Extremely hot conditions are very rare in Slovakia.
Winters are cold, cloudy and humid, with snow. In fact, heavy snowfall in the mountains for weeks on end is commonplace.
Across the country the average annual temperature is about 9 to 10 °C (48 to 50 °F). Average summer temps are near 20 °C (68 °F), while in the dead of winter, -3 °C (27 °F) are common averages in the higher elevations.
In the capital city of Bratislava, temps range from -3° to 2° C (27° to 36° F) in winter, while summer temps range from 16° to 26° C (61° to 79° F).
