Lithuania's overall climate is relatively mild with rainy springs, pleasant summers, cool falls, and winters that are cold, but not extreme.

Baltic Sea coastline average -2.5°C (27°F) in winter, and 16°C (61°F) in summer.
To the east and southeast, daily average highs reach up to -6°C (21°F) in winter and 19°C (66°F) in summer. Summer high temperature (on occasion) reach 30°C (86°F), or even higher.
Precipitation amounts are higher along the coastal areas, with an average annual rainfall of 800 mm (31 inches). Lower amounts of rain fall in the eastern regions.
