ATTRACTIONS: (a few major)

Although Azerbaijan's tourist industry is in the embroyonic stage, there are accommodations and things to do throughout most of the country.

For the most part, visitors stay in the city of Baku, the nation's cosmopolitan capital. Baku is multilingual, but out in the country, very few people speak English

Azerbaijan offers ancient cities, fortresses, palaces, museums, the mud volcanoes, the eternal flame in Surakhani, beautiful natural landscapes, numerous health resorts and mineral spas and for the nature lovers, it's a bird-watching paradise.

Sandy beaches and warm waters along the Caspian Sea are great places for recreation and relaxation. Hiking in the beautiful Caucasus Mountains is a favorite for many summer visitors.
