Coat of Arms: Azerbaijan's coat of arms (considered an emblem) was approved on January 19, 1993.
The emblem is composed of an eight pointed star encircled by layers of green, red and blue. As the same with the flag, the color red represents development and democracy, the color blue showcases that Azerbaijanis are one of the Turkic peoples, and green is symbolic of European influence on their Islamic country.
