  • (1956) Egypt's Colonel Nasser seized Suez Canal, closed the Canal and Straits of Tiran to Israeli and Israeli-bound ships
  • (1962) Adolf Eichmann tried and executed in Israel for his part in Holocaust
  • (1967) Six Day War – Israel captured Sinai, Golan Heights, West Bank and Jerusalem
