  • Coat of Arms: Benin's coat of arms was adopted in 1990, and is composed of two leopards supporting a shield. Divided into four quadrants, the top left contains a castle (representative of Benin's history), the top right features the Star of Benin, below is a ship (symbolizing the arrival of the Europeans), and the bottom left is a palm tree.

    Above the shield are two horns filled with corn and sand, which symbolizes prosperity.
