And speaking of earthquakes, the most severe one to hit here leveled most all of its buildings and killed thousands of its citizens. (The December 28, 1908 quake devestated the area and thousands died. In fact, the same quake killed over 75,000 people in neighboring Messina) For Twitter followers...protective footgear is a boot. I.E. The boot of Italy.
