Discovered by the French, named by the French, then renamed by the French for an applicable Saint, then remained once again. (It was first named Lac Sainte Claire in honor of Sainte Claire of Assisi)

When compared to its peers it's a bit on the small size. Regardless, it's always wanted to play with the "Big Boys," but to date...no progress has been made.
