Frequently Asked Questions

Question

At what size will you send my finished word processing image?

Answer

We need to know at approximately what size you will print the final image. Will it fill an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper, or will you use an 8.5 x 14? Even if it will only be a small part of the document, giving us the final dimensions (in inches) really helps. Here's Why!

We will create the image at a slightly larger size than your requested size. We will then compress it in Photoshop (increasing the resolution even more), and then send you that file by email. This way you can insert it into your document, and size it up or down as needed, with perfect clarity regardless of size. And in addition, it will print perfectly.

Question

What do you mean by "describe content?"

Answer

To produce your graphic(s) we need to know how you want it to look and what you want included. Helpful for us is a list that includes color preferences, any texture and shadows desired, and all labeling requirements. In short, to the best of your ability describe the way you want the graphic(s) to look.

Question

Can you match my preferred colors?

Answer

We can match specific CMYK, RGB and HEX colors. If those color types can't be determined, give us some general preferences. I.E. "I want green land and blue water." If specific colors are not requested, we generally use earth tone shades and gradients. Note that lighter colors are much easier on the eyes, especially when used in a presentation.

To select your preferred color(s), just cross-reference your choices on the cube below.

Question

How long does it take to get the finished image?

Answer

We produce all custom graphics in the order received. Over the last few years we've been running about 3 business days on average, with large, multiple image orders taking more time. Certainly we try to honor special requests, and if you have a rush job, please include as much information as possible on your initial request, as we always try to meet the client's deadline.

Question

How do I pay? Can I send you a check?

Answer

We accept all major credit cards and that is our preferred method of payment on all orders under $2000. Once the image(s) is approved by the client and the project finished, we bill the supplied credit card using Card Services International, our secure billing site. Once billed, we return a detailed receipt. If needed, we will supply an invoice to any company with a supplied purchase order.

Question

Will I be able to edit the image myself?

Answer

Your ability to edit an image depends completely on the software you use. If you have a vector software program such as Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw, we can supply your requested image in a format that will work in either, and that file will be easy to edit.

In addition, if you use Adobe Photoshop or PaintShop Pro, we can supply a format that will give you the ability to change colors, add text, and more.

You can't professionally edit high-resolution images in programs like Word or PowerPoint, you can only alter them by adding text and a series of icons like arrows, stars and more.

Question

How will I update and/or change my image(s) in the future?

Answer

We will make the changes and do them very reasonably.

Graphic Maps saves every map and graphic produced, and all new files created are backed up on a daily basis. Files are stored in three secure sites, both on and off premises.

In short, be it a week, month or year later, we can easily find your files and make the requested changes.
