john moen John Moen

In 1987, after many years in the advertising, radio broadcasting, retail and map businesses, he established Graphic Maps in Dallas, Texas. At that time his company created colorful, illustrated maps of major worldwide cities, then marketing the maps to the retail, travel and visitor industries, as well as establishing individual map businesses throughout the country.

Initially, all of the maps were laboriously drawn by hand, until the computer industry grabbed his attention. Today, all of his cartography is produced in Adobe Illustrator® and Adobe Photoshop®, and he will be pleased to tell you that maps that used to take 2 weeks to create on paper, now take 2 hours on a computer, if that.

Graphic Maps grew dramatically, and today, his award-winning maps are used in more applications then there is room here to mention. In 1990, with business plan in hand, he co-founded the Woolwine-Moen group, a collaboration of complimentary business concepts.

Worldatlas.com - one of the spin-offs from Graphic Maps - was developed (by Mr. Moen) in the spring of 1996, in an effort to aid students, teachers, travelers and parents with their geography, map and travel questions. Today it's one of the most popular educational sites on the web, receiving hundreds of questions and hundreds of thousands of visitors each day.

The other half of the partnership, her background is marketing and public relations, with a special emphasis on the racing industry.

After a dozen years in motorsports, she started her own business called Woolwine Motorsports. Soon after, she began working with some of the largest firms in the industry, including Pennzoil, Quaker State, the National Hot Rod Association, AutoStar Productions (Super Chevy Shows), and many, many more. She served as VP of Public Relations for the Texaco/Havoline Grand Prix of Houston, a CART motorsports event that raced through the streets of downtown Houston, Texas.

Today, she administers and supervises the daily operations of the Woolwine-Moen group, d/b/a Graphic Maps, handling internet advertising, office communications, electronic proposals, finances and more. Through it all, she still finds time to be a general partner in The Events Team, a multifaceted event facilitation company based in Texas.

In addition, she maintains her ownership of Lone Star Receptive Tours, a firm dealing with tour services for the travel professional, and is a general partner with John Moen in MCM Communications, a full-service promotions agency.

As creative director of Graphic Maps, Chelsea sees everything in black and white. The energy of her insatiable curiosity about the world and her maniacal attention to detail, have proven vital to the vision of our company and the support of our online community.

With laptop, iPod and PDA in hand, she travels extensively to both mundane and exotic destinations, gathering the latest data for upcoming projects. In addition, she practices yoga, Thai massage and astrology. Her love of geography was sparked by a special professor (the lone geographer) at her alma mater where she graduated with honors and a degree in International Studies.

Frequent flyer miles are nothing new to the director of sales. When he does make that rare public appearance in the home office, he's either on the telephone or answering his daily email overload.

Mickey began his sales career as a travel agent, moving on to a successful stint in the real estate business. His vast knowledge of maps and related applications are second-to-none.
