Baidu.com is a Chinese search engine whose success has been influenced by the censorship of Google’s search engine, google.com in China. Alexa Internet ranks Baidu as the 4th most popular website globally. Baidu controls a market share of 56.6% in China and is is it first Chinese firm to be listed on NASDAQ-100index. The company was founded by Robin Li and Eric Xu in 2000 before they floated some of their shares to American investors making it a Chinese-American company. It faces competition from Yahoo, Bing, and Sogou.
